Rockwell's DigiTalk

• Description: The DigiTalk coder operates at a sampling rate of 8KHz and transmits 223 bits of coded speech every 26ms, giving an overall bit rate of 8.577Kbps. The algorithm is based on analysis-by-synthesis predictive coding with vector-coded excitation, in which the excitation signal is optimized by minimizing the perceptually weighted error between the original and synthesized speech.
